Dear Parishioners,

We hope you have had an enjoyable summer. We are looking forward to another wonderful Sunday School year! We plan to continue our education through the Bible. We have had two years of Old Testament lessons and this year we will be starting the New Testament. Many of these stories are ones we all know and love. We are excited to journey through Jesus’s life on earth and all of the miracles and teachings that Jesus brought to us.

We will have our Vacation Church Retreat on August 15th this year. We’re looking forward to a day of fellow-ship, learning and fun. We are grateful to all our volunteers!

Curriculum and lessons planning with our teachers will begin in August. We are looking for six more people who are interested in serving our youth as Sunday School teachers. We cannot successfully run a program without the help of the people in our community. Our goal is to have two teachers in each classroom, so they can support each other throughout the year. Experience is not necessary, just love for the Lord and our kids!

We also would love to have some committed substitute teachers, so instruction is not interrupted for our children. We had some great substitutes last year that really helped make our year a success for all the children. If you are interested or know someone who would be, please reach out soon, so we can include you in the kickoff meetings! This is a great way to get started in Sunday School, we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

Important Dates:
Sunday 8/27 – Sunday School/Greek School Clean Up Crew. Immediately following the Divine Liturgy

Sunday 9/10 – First Day of Sunday School! Student registration will also be completed on September 10th and a parent meeting will take place in the chapel.

The start of a new school year is a wonderful time to reset and start anew. We are excited to get started with this year. We hope to see all of our children’s smiling faces at the start of the year, and throughout the calendar year.
