AFSP Out of the Darkness Rochester NY Walk ~ Saturday, Oct. 7th @ 10:00am

This year, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church is joining the battle against suicide. It is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. with an average of 130 suicides everyday. We are partnering with the AFSP to help spread hope, get people the help they need, and give “…those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death.”

We are looking for a minimum of 5 Annunciation volunteers to participate and make this a successful event. Please sign-up for the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church team via our registration link above.

“The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.”

About Out of the Darkness Community Walks:

The Community Walks, held in hundreds of communities across the country, are the core of the Out of the Darkness movement, which began in 2004. These events give people the courage to open up about their own connections to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other and in memory of those we’ve lost.
