Annunciation Greek Orthodox Sunday School

The mission of Annunciation Youth Education program is to educate our students in the Orthodox Faith through Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition to enable them to become faithful, practicing Orthodox Christians who appreciate the Orthodox way of life and possess the ability to clearly communicate this to others.

A Look Ahead…

Dear Families,

Our annual parish oratorical festival is coming up in March! As we are growing in numbers each year with our youth, we have decided to split the festival into two days. All children 5th grade and below will participate on March 8th right after the service ends (around 11:30).

Any children 6th grade through 12th will participate on March 15th after church around 12:00.

We encourage all children to participate. If your child is in 2nd through 5th grade, they will be working on their speech in church. Kindergarten and 1st graders are also welcome to participate. If you would like them to, you can work on a two or three sentence speech with them. They can pick any topic that has to do with their Christian faith! We are encouraging kids to pick one of the 12 feasts. The younger children could pick Easter or Christmas or a saint they like/named after!

A good outline is:

My name is….
My saint or my favorite holiday is…
I like my saint or holiday because…

If you have any questions or concerns about this please let us know!

About Sunday School

Our Sunday School program takes place after communion every Sunday from September to May. We have amazing teachers and classrooms for preschool to 8th grade currently. We provide a structured curriculum throughout the year. We also have fun and exciting events for our children to participate in. We know there are a lot of competing events on Sunday mornings, so we strive to make Sunday School fun and engaging for our children! We have games, incentives, prizes, food, holiday events, and many other activities throughout the year. We also have a quarterly service project that we have our children participate in! We welcome all families to participate and become part of the wonderful Orthodox community in our youth program!
