Dear Greek School Families and Parishioners,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 Year! We are so happy to see our classrooms full and students excited to learn Greek!
We are excited to share that we have 53 students joining us to learn and grow their Greek language skills, which is a great increase from last year’s enrollment!
We wanted to take a moment and give a great thanks to our teachers, who come prepared with their learning lessons, teach our children, and create an environment of curiosity, learning and growth. Our teachers this school year are:
Kindergarten: | Nia Pike |
First Grade: | Diana Hristodoulou & Stefani Nassis |
Second Grade: | Danielle Marou |
Third Grade: | Kristi Motra |
Fourth Grade: | Kostas Matakos |
Fifth Grade: | Walter Bubie |
Sixth & Seventh Grade: | Niki Ioannidis |
We are also excited to share that we have reviewed our current Greek School program structure, and we are bringing in some updates in our curriculum and our available resources for our children.
The most exciting resource that we are rolling out is ellinopoula.com, which is an engaging online plat-form that allows students to enhance their Greek language learning by playing games, watching videos, and completing fun activities. Teachers can also use it to create individual learning paths based on the student’s level and assign homework based on their class content. Each student has received their individual login to the platform and teachers have been trained in how to use the system effectively. We thank our Parish Council for their support in bringing this engaging technology to our Greek School program!
As a reminder, our school day begins at 9:30 am and ends at 1 pm each Saturday. Please arrive and pick-up your children on time. For safety reasons, we do not allow children to exit the building without an adult.
As always, feel free to contact us with any questions. We look forward to seeing your children’s smiley faces each Saturday!
Ευχαριστούμε,
Maria Dembeyiotis & Elina Kokorotsis
