Greek School ~ December/January 2023-24 Update

Dear Greek School Families and Parishioners,

We hope you all had a wonderful time during the Holiday Season! The kids did a great job with their Christmas play and caroling. Great gratitude goes to Lisa Tzogas, Katrina and John Manos, and all the parents who helped serve and clean-up. It was so much fun!

A Look Ahead:

We are thrilled to announce that our Greek School program will be introducing Conversational Greek Classes via Zoom starting in January 2024. These classes will provide a wonderful opportunity for your child to explore the richness of the Greek language and culture in a fun and engaging way. The classes are optional, but participation is highly recommended, so that your children can gain more practice speaking in the Greek language.

Zoom Class Details:

  • 4th Grade: Every Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm with Mrs. Stacy Stamoulacatos
  • 5th, 6th, and 7th: Every Wednesday from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm with Mrs. Eleni Chitou
  • Start Date: January 2nd and 3rd (Zoom link will be sent to parents through email)
  • Teachers will start promptly at 5:30pm. Please be prepared and join the link 5 min prior to the start time.

What to Expect:

  • Interactive Lessons: Our Greek School instructors, Eleni Chitou and Stacy Stamoulacatos, will conduct interactive lessons focusing on greetings, everyday conversations, cultural insights, and more.
  • Engaging Activities: Each class will include engaging activities such as role-playing, discussions, and cultural sharing to make the learning experience enjoyable.
  • Weekly Topics: The curriculum will cover a variety of topics, including introductions, food and dining, travel and tourism, hobbies, Greek history, mythology, holidays, literature, arts, and current events in Greece.

How to Prepare:

  • Ensure that your child has access to a computer or device with Zoom installed.
  • Encourage a quiet and comfortable learning environment.
  • Have a notebook and pen ready for note-taking

We are enthusiastic about this new initiative and believe it will be a valuable addition to our students’ educational journey of learning Greek. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
